I imagine by some standards that this is a small zoo, but it's just big enough for a day out with the kids. Not too tiring even for we grandparents. We had a great time. Highly recommend a visit.

The zoo had lots of shaded areas which you'll appreciate! Very cool "kids kingdom" section with a tube slides, playground and covered area with tables/chairs. You're kids will enjoy petting the deer. The aquarium has a huge 2 story tank with big fish!

It was spring when we visited, and many of the animals weren't out and about. However, there is a play place. As well, there were some of the animals in the aquarium that were very visible and swimming about. Would go again in warmer weather....More

We traveled to Pittsburgh with the kids and grandkids. The weather was a little overcast so it was great for us. The temperature was perfect. There was a few of the exhibits that were not available. The sand sharks, the sea otters, and the crocodiles...More

I ventured to the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium yesterday with my daughter's class and it was a lot of fun! The temperature was hot -- in the low 90's -- but there are lots of shady spots to rest. Unfortunately, the several story escalator...More
