Want New York Jewish deli? - Smallman Del on Murray Ave NOT the one in the Strip. Which was disappointing. A wide variety of eateries all down Murray. Also a Judaica shop and a real kosher grocery.(if you can afford the price of the chicken).

One of the historical homes of the Jewish people of Pittsburgh, this beautiful neighbourhood invited me in and allowed me to join in on tradition, while I was also able to drink great coffee and have a good bite for breakfast. With beautiful views of the park and great views of the university.

a wonderful community of changing restuarants (Asian to Kosher), and changing people. One could live, worship, shop, go to the movies after just a short, hilly walk from home

The shopping area has changed since the opening of the Waterfront. However, there are many restaurants in Squirrel Hill that offer good ethnic food from Mineo's Pizza, Chinese, to the Mediterranean Grill which offers very good authentic Lebanese food to much more.

From the little bit I have seen, I really like Squirrel Hill. Lots of different types of restaurants and people seem friendly. I didn't stay too long. Just uber in from downtown and ate at one of the restaurants. It has a great vibe and I will definitely come back to visit some more next time I am in Pittsburgh.

Lived here for a year and got to know it well. Smallish neighborhood and good for walking around. Good access to local parks. AND within 5 minutes of many great pizza shops. Also a very good Kosher butcher shop. Has great small-town charm. Restaurants are extremely kid-friendly.

Sukhotha Thai Bistro, a new Thai restaurant with great food, great service, and great food selections. It's small, quaint, and just a great Squirrel Hill experience.

Squirrel Hill is a great college town. It is ethnically diverse and welcoming. A variety of shops and restaurants make up the main street and there is amply parking. Because of its large population of members of the Jewish faith even the Dunkin' Donuts is Kosher.

We sort of stumbled on it visiting Pittsburg - ate at a great little Thai restaurant - and had coffee at the local café - that place was jamming - not a table to be had. Very nice time.
