If you enjoy visiting old cemeteries - This one is a must see. Drove through in November, a little chilly or we would have walked through. I have driven by this one before and always wanted to see inside. It's very old, full of history. The stone entrance is really amazing. Lots of roads wonder through it...so if you are... More

Just did a self guided walking tour. Beautiful cemetery with many Pittsburgh historical figures buried there, such as mayors and industrialists. Numerous above ground crypts and obelisks.

I love old cemeteries, I admit it.. and I am a mushroomer besides so of course I love the Allegheny cemetery. It is well worth a walk on a fall day or a summer afternoon, or after a quiet winter snow fall on cross country skis. Trust me.

People remark on drive through but we were there at 4 p.m. and the gate was locked with a chain..could not see another entrance. The stone entry was gated too..I tried to call just got answering machine. They had hours posted till 7pm..so maybe you can not drive any more. Bummed

This place is just a beautiful place to visit, I know it's a cemetery ! So many beautiful monuments, they offer a tour of but we did not take it, we chose to just ride and observe. They are many important and famous people laid in these serene, peaceful surroundings. Beautiful place to spend a quiet, peaceful day.

I wasn't sure what we would find here when our son mentioned a drive through but it was beautiful. And we did find the "Jaws" head stone.

I absolutely love this Cemetary! If you are in the area, you should definitely stop for a visit. The artwork is so beautiful. It's a large Cemetary and there's a lot to see. Lot's of fascinating history here too! There are several ponds, ducks and geese, and home to lots of deer! It's a pretty cool place to check out!... More

rent a bike or if you are lucky, your hotel has bikes. Ride up the river bike path to Lawrenceville. Grab a bite to eat then go visit this rolling hilled quiet peaceful cemetery. Then ride home.

This is a very old and large cemetery. We drove around for almost a half and hour and didn't see all of it.
