Lots of unique shops and quirky restaurants abound here. One of the areas of Pittsburgh I really enjoyed. Plenty of cool shops, good coffee, but did not try out the night scene.

A cute area to walk around, shop a bit and grab a meal. Seemed like a mini (very mini) version of Navy Pier in DC.

Not crazy about pole bending drunk people, but that is typical evening adventures in South Side. Lots to do!

I was thrilled with the growth from the Birmingham Bridge eastward, as the area has been developed into a very community based neighborhood. From 10th and Carson eastward, some improvement. but west of 10th, it is worse than it ever has been. Even with the...More

The community has done a great job in revitalizing this section of the area. The night life is fun, the food is awesome, and parking is reasonable.

Took a bit to decide where to stay and ended up on the south side to be close to both tours and inclines. As others had mentioned, mostly restaurants and lack of stores as in the past.

Carson is a very active street, would recommend you don't jay walk. Cops are better with keeping the public acts of urination and drunkenness down at night. Lots of bars, the Library has a cute pool table room upstairs and reasonable drinks. Bike path by...More

The southside has managed to stay pretty much the same over the years. Kinda dirty, busy on the weekends in the evening, and full of cops. This area of town is more for 21-27 or so age range in the evenings and more for anyone...More

Carson street has so much to offer. You would never be able to bar hop to all of the venues. Great food, fun times.

Bars, tattoo parlors, vape shops and boutiques. Its the hot spot for late nights in Pittsburgh. watch out for pot holes and wear comfortable shoes.

Someone already stated it depends on where you are on the Southside. If you are at Station Square you only need to walk across a bridge and you will be downtown. Station Square is at Smithfield Street. However if you... More
