The best views of Point Park may be from the top of the Duquesne Incline, but the viewing points along Grandview avenue at the top of the Monongahela incline are amazing too. There are places to sit and enjoy the city and river views, and get an ice cream from DiFiore's ice cream shop. The Monongahela incline has been operational... More

My kids love riding the incline when we are in town. We usually park at station square and then take it to the top to soak in the views. The walk along Grand Avenue on a clear day is spectacular. We usually hike up to the George Washington Statue and back and have some ice cream at the little shop... More

The funicular is a short ride up from Station Square to top of Mount Washington. There can be long lines down at Station Square so plan accordingly. I think it's fun with kids and a great way to get up to Mount Washington. Do note if you map the location of this place, directions may take you up to the... More

After arriving on a late weekday afternoon in Pittsburgh, we went up the Incline well after sunset. The Incline was easy to find and pretty easy to figure out how to buy tickets. After about a 5 min wait, the next car arrived, we got on, and then went up. The experience was a cross between a San Francisco cable... More

PROS: same heights as Duquesne; easier to walk around in at Grandview road. CONS: harder to park near it; the closest parking lot costs $8. The view does not show the majority of the bridges and 3 rivers as in the Duquesne spot.

We took the incline up to view the city. It was an amazing view! This incline is not a tourist attraction according to the guy working in the ticket both...but that's what we rode it for! It cost us $3.50 per person for a round trip ticket.

We went up the Duquesne Incline and was a great experience. We walked the mile to the Monongahela Incline to go back down. First, just buying a ticket was difficult. There was no easy way to get to the ticket machine. The machine itself is not very intuitive. Once we actually got to loading area, we stood and waited almost... More

This is the one next to Station Square and the T stop. Easier access than the Duquesne Incline, A lot busier, too. Can't call it a trip to the 'Burgh without riding one of them.

First of all, we were very confused on how to pay. The kiosk at the bottom of the hill was very hard to use, and many people walked up, pushed buttons, scratched their heads, and walked away. We boarded to incline, and paid at the top instead. It was a unique experience, and I got some pretty pictures. I wish... More
