We visited on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. After going to the Mt Washington Overlook and seeing downtown Pittsburgh, Heinz Field, and PNC Park we saw the incline just down the street. My granddaughter and I walked down to look at it and decided to take a ride. It was only $3.50 for my granddaughter and free for me (senior) to... More

I believe the inclines are a classic for anybody visiting Pittsburg. While not overly exciting I would say, they are pretty interesting and hold a lot of historic values (which you can read about on the walls of the waiting area). You can get a pretty cool view of the city on the ride, and especially at the top. The... More

Part of Pittsburgh's public transit involves the Incline, which is a booth that travels up and down the side of the mountain. It's an icon of Pittsburgh - everyone knows it. This was the least expensive activity we did, and my group had an absolute blast.

We thought this was a tourist attraction but man were we wrong. This incline railway is well over 100 years old and is used by the locals every day to go from river level to the neighborhoods on Mount Washington. It was interesting to ride a part of Pittsburgh's history. Can mark that off the bucket list but would do... More

Had a problem figuring out where to park but after a couple times around the block got into the right lot. Took the incline which was really cool coming up the mountain. Saw some young deer grazing not disturbed by the incline moving up the mountain. Looked for a place to eat but restaurants were closed and spent time taking... More

We parked in a parking lot at the bottom of the incline. Purchased tickets at a kiosk in the station and rode up. Nice bench seating and comfortable. The car is ambient temperature so dress accordingly. At the top, a few yards from the station is a great overlook of the city for nice pictures. We spent about an hour... More

This is a unique way to travel - not available in many cities. I recommend parking at the bottom in the Carson St lot (because it's easier to find a parking spot there) and riding up to Mt. Washington - kids like walking over the bridge on Carson St. Fantastic view at the top. Fairly inexpensive for a round-trip ticket.... More

A nice ride up to a beautiful view of downtown Pittsburgh for a reasonable price. Shopping and restaurants at the top that are great places to visit.

Great way to get up to Mt. Washington. Always nice to take in a local attraction and use a mode of transportation that is not in every city.
