Walk across the Smithfield bridge and to the incline station. The bridge is a Roebling bridge (he built the Brooklyn Bridge) so it provides a nice prototype for his later works. The incline itself costs a couple of dollars, and once you figure out the ticket machine, it's an easy ride up and down. At the top, there are commanding... More

Old and quite rickety. It's got some good views as you climb. Worthwhile doing on the way up, you can then choose to walk back down if you wish.

This incline is a little bit down the road from the other incline in Pittsburgh. Although it doesn't have as good of views of the city as the other incline, this one is still a really fun ride. It has the square shopping area at the bottom of it and nice views from the top.

I call this living history and rightfully so. It's one of the oldest funicular railway still functioning and very much a great exciting short ride to the top to see spectacular views of the entire Pittsburgh skyline. Take the incline at night and park at the station square nearby. Restaurants are available on top and at station square as well.... More

Nice trip and a great view. There is a quaint neighborhood at the top with a few small shops and restaurants

I'm sorry, nothing special with the incline, long lines, couple of minutes overseeing three rivers and that´s it!

Before I retired, I was an instructor. During our week long courses, we'd pick a night and gather a group of our students and take a trip to Station Square and also go up to Mt. Washington on the incline. This was a great way to interact with students (some who were from other countries) and introduce them to Pittsburgh.... More

This ride is pretty cool and doesn't last that long once it gets going. This incline doesn't have the original cars but they're still pretty cool as they're stepped, each section is higher than the other. I walked over from Point Park and rode the Duquesne Incline up, walked along Grand View Dr, taking in the spectacular view, and then... More

Taking a ride to the top of Mt Washington aboard the Mon incline, is the only way to get a birds eye view of the city of Pittsburgh. The incline (or funicular) has been in continuous operation since the late 1800's. Although it's a wonderful tourist attraction, hundreds of local residents use the incline daily to go back and forth... More
