Hi! We're having a great time at Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and the only thing missing is you. MAKESHOP, our tinkering space, has real tools and materials such as wood, sewing machines, hammers, nails, a loom, animation station and more. Jump right in, that circuit isn't going to build itself! The Art Studio is calling for your creative energy to design and ink a silkscreen, paint, sculpt clay and create something unique alongside the many working artists who visit. Young ones, you are royalty in the Nursery, a space filled with colors, shapes and textures perfect for your growing minds and bodies. The Attic, Garage and Waterplay (because it's just not fun until your underwear is soaked) round out the permanent exhibits. But not so fast. From marching bands, slam poets and cultural traditions to letters that fall from the ceiling and a crawling maze made out of packing tape, our temporary exhibits, performers, programs, artists-in-residence and artwork are particularly awesome too. If we don't hear the protests of departing kids at the end of each day, we're not doing our jobs right.

For the cost to get into the museum - I did not find value in this visit. At most, plan an hour or two. If you have older kids (over 5) - most of the areas are too 'young' for them. If you do go...More

We brought our three children (ages 9, 6, and 2) to the Children's Museum for a mini family vacation. This was my second time at the museum, and the second time for two of my children (the first time being on a school field trip)....More

To be honest, 3 stars was generous. My husband and I took our 2.5 year old to the museum today for the first time. We were excited and drove about an hour to get there. I was a little hesitant when I saw the location....More

This is great for a 90-minute visit--all experiential and lots of fun for kids and parents alike. Best kids museum I've ever been to--well-done!

I just read a terrible review of this museum and I can hardly believe it! We just spent the better part of 5 hours at the Children's Museum and we didn't get to adequately do everything. And this with a 21-month old who had to...More

I really want to write a good review for this museum, but there really isn’t anything good about the place. The Children’s Museum holds so much potential for being a great place, but it falls warily, wearily, and woefully short. My son never gets bored,...More

I have taken my children to the Children's Museum over many years, and they still love it. For infants and toddlers, there's an entire floor dedicated to the kind of play they crave - trains and blocks for building, ramps to run up and down,...More

I found their exhibits unique verses other children's museums I've been too. Some common museum items still had a unique twist including their workshop and water play area. Their workshop had more items to play with and water play area was definitely more wet. Their...More

The smaller the kids, the more they'll enjoy it. However, the museum is quite small. Entrance after 4pm (good for 1 hour, enough for most kids, eg, before a baseball game) is $5 only.
