I liked the written explanations of art work and was in awe of the plaster casts of famous architecture and statues from around the world. Don't miss native Mary Cassatt's "Women Picking Fruit" - it's stunning. My title and lack of 5th star? - The...More

The museum is connected to the Natural History Museum and together, you could spend all day. The layout of the art museum makes sense and is easily navigated. Wonderful collection of art, from primitive, ancient, modern, impressionism and everything in between. I'm definitely going back...More

My husband and I arrived at the museum around 11:30, so had to wait for a half an hour before getting in. One admission allows to both art and natural history museums, so we went to the history one first. It was too busy there...More

This is a pretty awesome art museum. It's laid out for easy navigation. Explanations are simple and clear. The building itself is as great as the artwork.

A comprehensive collection with a late Van Gogh, an early Mondrian, Cezanne, Monet, Degas, Hopper, three Futurist canvases and a marvelous lacquered wall from the grand salon of the SS Normandie. Pleasant courtyard for coffee or an ice cream.

This is the weakest of the Carnegie Museums. While it has works by Impressionists and other modern artists, all of which are worth seeing, not much truly stands out compared to other major art museums in other cities.

I don't think the art museum stands comparison to the neighboring nature history one, but it provides a nice overview of selected painting and sculpture styles if you can't get (or get your kids :-) to bigger museums.

The Carnegie Museum of Art has some classic art works laid out in a very nice format. While it might not be the largest art museum, it did have some really nice pieces. As a bonus your admission gets you into the connected Museum of...More
