My husband and I took advantage of a rainy Saturday afternoon to visit the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh and we so impressed with our visit and all the amazing exhibits we viewed. It is so well done, the building is wonderful and the only problem was we didn't allow enough time. We spent two hours but really needed a... More

I had a little extra time to do something while my husband was in a meeting. I chose to go here because it was right across the street from our Hampton Inn Hotel. GREAT choice! I was very impressed with the great variety of history in this museum. I really enjoyed it. I was able to get a little discount,... More

Local history is very well represented by the items on display, including a retired street car, fire engine, information on battles in the 1700s and 1800s. The development of Heinz food processing is shown, as are the original props from the PBS show Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, as it was a Pennsylvania production.

This was an awesome place to go and learn all about Pittsburgh. 6 floors of learning and finding out about Pittsburgh's past and present. Spent 3 hours just wandering the halls and looking and reading. This place has everything, sports, travel, art, bridges, Heinz pickles!!!! Fun book store and gift shop too.

The last time that I was at the History Center was as part of a high school field trip. The exhibits have something for everyone - from sports to memorabilia to social causes. The students were engaged throughout the trip.

Well designed displays. One of my favorite was a glass exhibit, beautiful and informative. The Heinz 57 exhibit was a delight. There were so many great Pittsburgh pictures. The view of the city from the window was also something to see. We paid reasonable rates for parking, right across the street. Took us about 4 hours to go through it,... More

We've been to a lot of museums and the artifacts here were very unique. There was a strong focus on local history and artifacts.

A great way to spend part of the day. There were 7 floors and each had different info on each floor.Similar to The Field Museum in Chicago

Highly recommend visiting this museum. So much history. I loved seeing the old baseball cards along with the history of the Steelers and Oakmont and Arnold Palmer. Definitely worth spending a day in this museum.

The museum was not crowded and had many hands on exhibits for our 8 year old to play! Loved all the sports info!
