Unusual site well worth visiting. Gives sense of varied cultures of Pittsburgh. Tours available but must check. Can visit on own but may find rooms in use. Adds 'color' to fantastic castle-like atmosphere of Cathedral of Learning of University of Pittsburgh

We just wandered in here because I heard it was supposed to be pretty, but it was definitely cooler than expected! I'd definitely suggested visiting these rooms. Make sure you don't just go to the inner, huge room but also the small rooms around the edge of the building. I wouldn't be too keen on paying much to visit here... More

These rooms are amazing representations of their respective countries cultures, crafts and customs. A must for everyone to see, whether a Pittsburgher or traveler from afar. At Christmas time they have an open house with hosts for every room who give informed explanations of the rooms and the customs of the countries. At the same time in the central hall... More

The rooms are all unique and very beautiful. It was interesting to walk from room to room and see the different styles. The main hall is breathtaking and I would recommend taking the elevator to the top floor to see the city.

The architechture was beautiful! The large room had fantastic looking large wooden doors and arches. And the themed rooms were likewise beautiful and very unique. Walking through the rooms and looking at the different desks and wall decorations and hidden blackboards was extremely enjoyable and well worth the visit. The rooms that I was able to see (I did not... More

Not to be missed! Classrooms installed by different nationality groups over the decades. You get a key from the front desk and it feels like you're getting private access to the backrooms in the Cathedral of Learning.

First, the building looks like Hogwarts inside and out. Absolutely beautiful. You go to the gift shop near the back of the 1st floor. This is a self guided tour. The price is $4 per person with discounts for children. You get a map and a key with a little recorder device that tells you about the rooms on the... More

One of the most under reported attractions in Pittsburgh, in my opinion it is a unique must-see attraction. It is a collection of active classrooms with superb artifacts and insights into individual nationalities. These are well thought out, carefully constructed exhibitions that provide insights into the cultures of many countries (interesting even if you have visited the countries or are... More

What this is: Decorated classrooms in a beautiful Gothic style building -- the Cathedral of Learning -- a centerpiece at the University of Pittsburgh. Don't go when school is in session as the rooms may be in use. It's not so much a museum as an eccentric house tour. Worth seeing! What you do: Go to the gift shop/office on... More
