An expensive way to see cultural aspects of various ethnic groups to the Pittsburgh scene. I love walking through the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh's campus. It feels like you are walking into another age. The rooms are gorgeous and unique. Don't forget your camera!

On the 1st and 3rd floors of PITT'S Tower of Learning, the Nationality Rooms are mesmerizing. Each shows a piece of art, history, folk culture, and folk art, all rolled into one beautiful room in an already awe-inspiring architectural structure. The rooms will bring you closer to each ethnicity and culture as it was years ago and as many hope... More

We had no idea the number of nationality rooms included in this building! Wandering around and exploring was fun, we had a great time leaning some new things. Only not a five star because after a 45 minute wait we were still unable to get an audio guide- just given the keys to check out the rooms ourselves... but still... More

By the way, the picture shown is of the main hall, not a Nationality room. Each room is classroom size, and they're actually sometimes used for classes! Stop at the information desk and pick up the audio tour. You can enter rooms in any order, I believe there are about 30, so maybe look at them online first so you... More

I would say if you don't have time, the 3rd floor which is free of charge is very very nice. I would visit 3rd floor first, and then if you have enough time, visit the 1st floor which requires admission fee. Loved the very impressive Gothic hall.

We visited when the holiday decorations were still up and that added to the beauty of many of the rooms. I learned a lot using the audio tour "guide" which is used on the first floor and is a hand held recorded device for each room. The 3rd floor has a recording that plays in each room. They are adding... More
