The area of Holtwood Dam, Lock 12 and Mill Creek Falls is fantastic! The hiking trails are great and the scenery is beyond beautiful! Great Picnic area available and also bathrooms below the Lock 12 parking lot. Will be returning for sure!

I'm by no means an expert kayaker, but there is a great "play area" for experience kayakers on the York side of the Dam. On the south side of the nearby Norman Wood Bridge, there is enjoyable and more relaxing canoeing and kayaking opportunities. You...More

My wife and I decided to head to Holywood for a nice day hike. There are plenty of challenging trails to choose from and many lead to the edge of the river were you can jump in and cool off if you are careful.

We hiked at Holtwood based on online and written hiker's resources. We scoffed at the assertion that a particular 3.5 mile trail would take 3 hours. We are no longer laughing. Wet, leat-covered rocks and boulders along a swift creek and upwards made for a...More

Went hiking with my 5 year old grandson to the dam. He was exited to be able to walk on the rocks and experience nature. He wanted to stay there to camp ground, and go fishing.

I was not really looking at the camping aspect but I think if you google camping there you will find a few places. All the best. I think you will enjoy the area if you are campers.
