Jim Thorpe's is an interesting story. The memorial was informative, but a bit run down. Maybe it was just the time of year and it'll be cleaned up when the weather is nicer.

of Jim Thorpe, along with the monuments....definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The location is a park on the outskirts of town, but only a few minutes drive from the downtown area...free parking.

The memorial is tasteful and well maintained. The memorial is prior to entering town so that there is no missing this wonderful tribute.

Excellent stop on our visit to the town of Jim Thorpe. The Memorial honors the athlete and man for which the town is named. It is an interesting place to visit. Photos are offered to see of his early years and sports career. I loved...More

I knew very little about him, beside the basics that were taught. This was very informative memorial. A must see while visiting.

If you're in Jim Thorpe why not see his memorial? Consist of two statues and his grave. His story and that of the town name is interesting.

The two monuments are amazing likenesses of Jim Thorpe, right down to his fingernails. The little park itself does need some love and care. There is a lot of information about his life and such underneath almost yellowed 'glass', but nothing that I read that...More

I saw on TCM that Jim Thorpe's relatives want to move his remains to Oklahoma where his family native American tribe originates so I wanted to see his memorial again. It's so well done and cared for. Very limited parking but some wonderful sculptures and...More

On our way out of town we stopped to visit the Jim Thorpe Memorial. It is a u-shaped drive around the Memorial, with no real place to park. It is very nicely done, with lots of information about Jim. Also, two statues and, of course,...More

Jim Thorpe created a very nice memorial to the great athlete. I was amazed over his accomplishments. I had not realized that he won both the decathlon & penthalon. My only complaint is tha tsome of the signage will need refreshing next spring.
