The 1-hour, 16-mile round-trip follows the Lehigh River over bridges, through Glen Onoko, into the Lehigh Gorge State Park. High-rising cliffs and mountain scenery surround the train along the route to Old Penn Haven. You will see hikers, rafters, mountain bikers, and wildlife along the railroad. You will learn about railroad lore, wildlife, the history of the anthracite coal region, and the people who launched America into the Industrial Age. Riding in typical open car, we enjoyed this 70 minute trip through this historic river valley. Good commentary using speakers, but best to sit under one if hearing impaired! The train was quite full for a Thursday - so suggest getting tix online ahead.

This was my first ride on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, and it was fantastic! The staff was all very friendly, and the ride itself was very enjoyable. The scenery was gorgeous. Would go again!

Affordable fun day with young kids. Open air car, you can walk to both sides. They have an option to ride out 8 miles and bike back. Will try that next time.
