Sascha was a fantastic guide for the very interesting Cathedral Cave tour! The stand out sight of course being the 15m high 'Altar' stalagmite which included the crystallised bible. Really enjoyed the tour, the information shared by Sascha and her beautiful voice as she sung...More
We visited Cathedral Cave. It is the biggest of the Wellington Caves. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a terrific experience. The caves are a "must-do" if you are in the area. Highly recommended. Good value and quite memorable. Afterwards walk across the...More
We went and did all 3 tours at the caves in one day , our tour guides Ash & Christine were very friendly with lots of knowledge about the caves and the mine so made these tours very interesting. Was $50 each but was well...More
The is a great place to enjoy history on caves and discovery of old remains. The guides are very knowledgeable, 2 caves to visit and a mine. The Cathedral cave is the best cave lots to see, 300 steps. The Garden cave is OK, however,...More
I was looking forward to seeing these caves but I was disappointed. I found the tour was expensive for what was received. The tour runs for about 60 mins, but most of that is a guide talking about the caves and I personally found it...More
All three tours were included in our package, but the Cathederal Caves & Phosphate Mine were the best. All very professional. Lighting is excellent to highlight the features of the caves. Macro fauna fossil finds and 19th Century history were very interesting.
If you haven’t been into a cave before you would enjoy this tour... BUT ....there are many others that are much better than these.
Our guide was interesting and tried to make the tour amusing and fun.
Not difficult To complete even though there are...More

My daughter and I toured the Cathedral Cave and Phosphate Mine on our visit to Wellington Caves. Both tours were completely different experiences, so it is well worth doing both. The Cathedral Cave had some beautiful crystal areas and the Phosphate Mine was really interesting,...More

That's great you are planning a visit to Wellington Caves. We have 3 guided tours available. The Cathedral Cave has approx 150 steps we do these in stages so they are manageable for most. Gaden is a highly decorated cave up the top of the reserve 120 steps. I would suggest for you the phosphate and fossils tour which is completely flat and even pram friendly. It takes you through what was a working mine over 100 years ago and into bone cave where you can see 1000s of fossils in the walls.
Feel free to call us if you would like any more information. 02 6845 2970

Same here, I believe we were also given pensioner's discounts. That said, I can understand the attempt to keep people coming back. I do believe a similar system applies at many of the big attractions in Canberra, where locals can buy a reduced price membership.
