Perisher has improved since being bought by the US Vale resorts group. The acquisition offers the Epic pass giving discounts to food and shops on the mountain. Perisher is the largest snow resort in the Southern Hemisphere with 47 lifts and terrain ranging from gum...More

Perisher is a great location and the different mountains (Guthega, Blue Cow and Smiggins) are well linked but they do get a lot of day trippers and new skiers. Be prepared for nearly everything to be expensive and for queues.

Took our sons to Blue Cow for snowboarding lessons, first time on snow..included in 2 day lessons was board and boots hire at Bullocks Flat. Got there early and was close to the front of the queue, a man came and said that board and...More

Plenty of resources here for both the advanced and the beginner skier - however some of the day facilities are crowded and specialize in a good range of unhealthy food. More management also needs to be applied to people standing around, sitting around, congregating around...More

Perisher certainly has alot of terrain, but the runs are short compared to overseas and there in lies the rub. The mountains in Australia are just to high enough to allow for longer runs. So as long as you get over this you can have...More

At 8.32am Perisher reported 46/47 lifts would open. At 9.10am. They got honest and reported 34/47 lifts would open. This BS has gone on almost every day for the last 11 days we have been here. Conditions have remained close to the same every day...More

When skiing in Australia, we prefer Perisher Blue, as it has many ski/board options covering many levels of terrain. We do prefer to get over to Blue Cow & Guthega, which can be a bit quite, with some very good runs for all levels of...More

Perisher compared to other world leading ski resorts is very expensive, especially since Perisher is not and does not have world leading ski facilities nor does it have snow like other places like in Japan, Europe, Canada. Plus its so far from everywhere, why would...More

A cold front came through last Friday afternoon. Perisher described the conditions in their afternoon report as " some moisture around", which in reality was heavy rain across the slopes from about 3pm. They told us the cold front would be following the rain and...More

Timing the snow here is just luck. If you are not driving, then fly to Canberra or Cooma and then hop on a bus. Canberra has great food and a few good tourist attractions. For accomodation in Perisher try the Stables.
