Overview
More
Whilst there are always market looking stalls on the main street of Nimbin, Nimbin Markets operates down and around the rainbow coloured Community Centre on Cullen street, every 4th and 5th sunday of every month. And the REAL magic occurs around the main stage, which is through the main gate of the Community Centre, and down at the back of the grounds. Our market has high morals, and we like to keep everything Handgrown, Handmade, Fair-trade, or Recycled as much as possible. So we have local produce, a variety of healers, excellent recycled and vintage wares, various unique art forms, like wool sculpting, hand crafted leather goods, artisan wood furniture, absolutely incredibly crafted bone carvings, local and organic soap, international food, a variety of unique jewellery, plants, and an amazing main stage where endless playing, jamming, and improvised magic happens between a diverse array of musicians and sound sculpturists. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! It's the vibe, the family feel and the love that really hit the average visitor.

I loved his little market in this town, selling a mixture of so many things (clothes, handmade items, plants, jewelery) I especially liked the beeswax food covers. Would have loved to buy some but as we are traveling for a long time we have to...More

I wouldn’t recommend coming here. It’s a long drive out from Byron Bay with nothing much to see or do.

Nothing good to be had in Nimbin. Worth a quick stop to look at the overall aesthetic but the longer you stay the sadder it all seems. T shirts emblazoned with "Centrelink, living the dream" pretty much sums up the vibe here. Shops seem to...More

Heard very mixed stories about nimbin markets and most of the bad ones seemed realistic. Very dirty and unorganised

Great experience. Felt like entering a time capsule of the age of Aquarius/flower power 60s. Colourful, vibrant and immersive. Well worth a visit. Some great art and talks about the history of the place. Met some really colourful characters, with some really colourful stories.

Well worth the drive to Nimbin - would still be a sleepy hollow without the Aquarius Festival in 1973 which put the town on the map. The markets have some great stalls, lots of home produce & home made produce. People are friendly and generally...More

This is a lively and quirky little country market which operates on the fourth and fifth Sundays of the month. In those months where there is a 5th Sunday the market expands quite dramatically as there is no competition from other regional markets.
