There are numerous walks on Lord Howe Island - far to many to mentioned here. We have done everyone and enjoyed them all. There is something different to see every time. Some walks are quite physical and others are pleasurable.

As not very active 60/70 year olds we found a good walk for every day. It was easy to decide that Mt Gower climb was beyond our capabilities but Intermediate Hill, Transit Hill, Malabar Peak pushed us, but we were glad we continued the uphill...More

After a week on LHI we were 'walked out' after completing most of the walks on the island. As a previous reviewer said 'there is a walk for everyone'. One walk that stands out in my mind is the one starting at Settlement Beach to...More

We went to Lord Howe expecting great water-based activities (swimming, snorkelling, sea kayaking, diving) but were very impressed with the network of walking trails. Every day we headed out to explore. Too many for a week, so we'll have to go back and do more....More

We are in our 50s and of average fitness, and did two of the more reasonable walks during our stay. Both highly recommended. Be prepared - both walks require good walking shoes, plenty of water and some fruit or snacks to have along the way....More

We left from Ned's Beach , walked up to Malabar Hill, along the ridge to Kim's lookout then across to where the track meets Max Nicholls memorial track where we then followed it down to North Beach. At North Beach we walked along the rock...More

There are walking trails available throughout the island. Some are easy but others more difficult culminating in the hardest walk of all , the Mt. Gower climb. Tracks are sandy, grassy or pebbly. There is plenty to see along the way with beautiful vistas and...More

I managed to walk a number of the trails, which had wonderful views, amazing vegetation, bird life and lots of exercise up hills and down hills. Some trails such as malabar and kyms lookout lead to north beach, very refreshing on a hot day. Others...More

Being a small island there'll be changes in the weather within a day. It can shower on & off then be sunny. If it's windy on one side or one end then it will be better on the other side. A spray-jacket is useful. Quoting... More
