On the long drive between Melbourne and Sydney, exit into Holbrook. Grab a snack and a drink, stretch your legs in the park and climb on the submarine! Information boards are around with the history of the town and of the submarine.
The submarine is half submerged and provides steps for children to access the top and investigate. It’s a welcome stop on the highway for a break and let the kids get out for a bit. It’s a worthwhile stop.
It would appear that Holbrook is now the home of submarine history. The museum makes good use of technology and the displays in the park outside are a drawcard. If the submarine hadn't been so prominent in the park we wouldn't have known the museum...More

This was a nice small diversion while traveling by road. Interesting for all to see the different articles and here the stories. Also kids could climb up the submarine displayed in the park outside. Nice little souvenir shop with a charming old man manning it!!...More
