If you are interested in military history this a must visit. The school serves as a memorial to the Great War, built in 1923 and contains a very emotive interesting museum telling stories of local men who served mainly in World War 1. Having visited...More

This old school has so much to show people, the information is so well displayed and is so easy for people to wander around and learn about local facts, from years gone by.

I was told that this is the only War Memorial High School in the Southern Hemisphere. The museum is beautifully set up, interesting and a wonderful history of Hay.

There are some interesting displays here. If you're into Australian and or military history it is worth a visit. Lots of reading to do but you probably wouldn't need more than an hour. The reception staff are very friendly.

This is definitely worth the time to visit. For a small town Hay has given so much to our country. Great way to break up your trip if passing through.

I'm biased because I attended the school many years ago, but it does have a lot of history and the school is a very unusual one. If you're in town this is the number one must, even above the gaol and Dunera.
