Not that the cost itself was the problem, that seemed quite reasonable when booked, but the fact they still took everybody's money and ran the "show" the night we went was criminal when it should have been cancelled. Travelling and having scratchy internet access at...More

I am sorry I am giving such a poor rating but my personal experience was not a good one. Matthew, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable BUT there were way too many people in our group ... close to 30 people. There was cloud cover...More

We visited the Observatory on their Open Day at the end of September. It was very well organised with plenty of Astronomers to ask questions. There is shuttle bus that takes you to other observatories on the mountain. The views from Siding Springs are superb!...More

Great place to go star gazing with the family. Kids loved it! Very informative & you can see the small details on the moon and other planets. Well worth a visit!

We were there on a cold clear winter's night, well rugged up. Mars and Venus were clearly visible to the naked eye, plus other planets for anyone knowing where to look. We were given an excellent visual and verbal presentation on the universe, then checked...More

A little difficult to find in the dark but a worthwhile visit. We sat outside for a quick slideshow then different stars and planets were pointed out to us. Then there were 3 telescopes outside and one inside a dome to look at various stars...More

Perfect night. Clear enough to see targets even in the small less powerful scopes. The Milky Way was gorgeous, and we had numerous shooting stars and satellites go by. For $28 each the commentary and overall experience was well worth it. Take your SLR without...More
