The heritage centre was a real surprise and a great treat. There are two levels of relics and historical items relating to the town's history, indigenous culture and a great deal of detail about mining in the area. There's even a replica mine tunnel downstairs....More

They lovely young lass at the information center was very helpful and friendly .She really promoted her region and steered us in the right direction .
There is a museum there as well but at $10 a head we skipped it .
An excellent museum, showcasing Cobar’s history. Take your time and read the interesting personal stories of people’s lives in early days.
The mining history is well documented and the video with sub titles, explaining the process of mining, is excellent.
