Hammer and Hand is a collective of passionate artists who work with metal. You will find an eclectic range of handmade and individually designed jewellery, sculpture and stainless steel utensils such as cake servers, salad servers, ladels and spoons. The gallery is a working studio and so during opening hours (10am - 4pm 7 days a week) there will always be a practising artist at work at the bench. You can book a jewellery making lesson with one of the members or rent a jewellery bench upstairs at daily or weekly rates. We look forward to meeting you on your next visit to Byron Bay.

OK, but a bit far out of town. Difficult to get to unless you have a car, and even then, no footpaths in the industrial estate.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review us. The Arts and Industrial Estate is indeed a little out of town - sadly the enormous rents in Byron town make it impossible for anything but chain stores to be there. We do find that people who are able to make the trip a couple of k's out of town... More

Planning a day trip to Byron while on holidays recently we decided to call into the Hammer & Hand after reading some of the previous reviews and were glad we did. Not only for the great hand crafted jewellery but for the chance to speak with one the artists Bruce Pringle. He's a real character & passionate about his craft... More

We came to Byron for six days and I visited this place three times. Can't remember exactly how many pcs I bought but it was lovely meeting with the artist who made the jewellery. All three artists we met were very patient explaining the techniques and material used. My 8yo DD was super excited to see Rachel who made the... More

I called into the Hammer and Hand today and was surprised to meet Bruce, the artist that made a beautiful metal necklace I purchased in Tasmania earlier this year! (I love the necklace and get complements every time I wear it). Bruce and Julian were wonderful to talk to and very helpful. The shop was filled with beautiful creations from... More

Thank you so much for posting a review for Hammer. We do sometimes get people who come in and find our gallery strangely familiar - and then are relieved to find they're not mad, they have in fact been to the Hobart Hammer and Hand :) Bruce and Julian are two very top people and fabulous artists, we've very glad... An artists' collective in the true sense of the word. A fabulous collection of hand crafted jewellery and sculpture. I enjoyed visiting and watching the artists at work.

Because it's a collective, the jewelry pieces create a lovely mix of eclectic styles. They are stylish and are very well made. We bought two lovely pieces. A little place full of many lovely things.

The "Melting Point" exhibition and studio opening is one of the great events of the year. The ambiance, food, fires and the friendly people add so much to the studio work. I would recommend anyone to visit the studio to experience the exquisite variety of the metal, silver and painting works displayed.

Being an artists collective there's an interesting mix of original pieces - from metal sculptures, artworks and jewellery. Also quite varied in price with earrings for around $20 up to sculptures for over a $1000. Well worth a look and something for everyone and all tastes.
