Lighthouse trail

About a 45 minute hike from the centre of Byron. Best to go at either sunrise or sunset for the most picturesque photos.

Beautiful walk up to the lighthouse. You can make it a loop hike and see in all directions. View from the lighthouse is fantastic. The wildlife is great with many birds and even a Swamp Wallaby on our hike! Well worth the effort, but be prepared for some steep steps in sections. If you want to see the lighthouse, you... More

My children and I had limited time in Bryon Bay but this was on the list of things to do. From the beach, the lighthouse sits proud on a hill surrounded by lush green vegetation. We had a bit of a walk just to get onto the trail so that did make the walk slightly longer however it was still... More

Nice walk along the beach to the lighthouse. Trail is beautiful and lots of rest stops along the way. From Byron it can take about an hour to get there but worth the walk for the views alone.

Make sure you wear good shoes, sunscreen up before you go and bring lots of water!! The hike involves lots of stairs although it's well maintained and has spots to stop and enjoy the fantastic view along the way!

A worthwhile drive up the windy hill. 30-min tours to the top of the lighthouse, walking tracks and spectacular lookouts. Parking at the top is $8 and is limited. There's a cafe with great views at the top too.

The best way to explore Byron Bay is on foot. Pack your most comfortable walking shoes, a small backpack to carry water and essentials and off you go. Lots of walking paths.

A great coastal walk taking in the lighthouse and Australia's most easterly point. Take about 1.5 hours round trip from the bottom carpark

Great walk, but very strenuous. Cafe closed at 5, so if you are going for the sunset take some food and drink. Street performers helped with the atmosphere. Lovely views.
