Beautiful views after lovely walk from Byron Bay
We tackled this walk on a lovely November day. It took us 3-4 hours round trip (circular walk) but it was worth it! Gorgeous views from all vantage points along the way and when you get there. Probably best in half decent footwear as depending on the weather it might be slippery in some places. A great walk to visit the most easterly point of Australia. If you are not interested in the walk you can drive up to the lighthouse car park and park (approx $8) but there aren't that many parking spaces. A must do when you visit Byron Bay.

    Stunning View
The lighthouse is definitely worth the walk from Byron Bay. Make sure you bring lots of water and sunscreen with you. There are plenty of places to take great pictures along the way.

    Place to remember
This location provides a breathtaking vista, and during my visit, I had the privilege of observing dolphins playfully jumping in and out of the water. However, it is important to note that the trail was inaccessible during my visit. Additionally, be prepared to incur a parking fee of AUD10 unless you are willing to undertake a lengthy walk from the base to the lighthouse.

My husband and I had a lovely morning visiting the lighthouse. After 9am you can visit the museum and get some free tickets to the lighthouse tour! Please make a donation to help maintain this beautiful landmark. The volunteers are extremely helpful, lovely, friendly and have so much knowledge about this place. There very passionate for their work, and visitors can see that. The little museum explains a little about the Byron bay wildlife, the history of this particular lighthouse and Byron bay history too. It's a must do!!
On the day we were visiting the last tour was done at noon, so make sure you arrive early. And maximum 10pp per tour. Kids under 5 can't go as on the top there are no nets and the wall is high, so they wouldn't be able to see the view and it's dangerous to level them up.

We visited in January./February, nice weather but windy so be careful with hats, amazing view of about 180 degrees, walking trail downhill so you have to consider it back (we didn't check it up). We saw couples photographed before wedding and also models just by chance on the day we visited. Disabled and children welcome but check the possibility of a car up to the lighthouse not only up to the parking. At the entrance to the site they ask for a payment of 8 AUD for a car and 4 AUD for a motorcycle, a bit annoying the high price when the cafe is closed and the toilets are very dirty and not maintained. Price should be considered in all attraction data and not just in the landscape. Still recommended.

We originally drove up to the lighthouse, there is not much parking up there so we drove back down and found a spot at one of the lower carparks - all the parking is charged per hour. We walked back up the hill, it's a longish walk with amazing views along the coast - walking it really gives you time to soak up the view. The lighthouse is nice to look at and there is a cafe and gift shop to browse. We walked on to the most easterly point in mainland Australia which felt pretty special. The view from here looks back to town and up the coast the other way. We saw pods of dolphins in the water and watched them for ages. On a sunny day there is very little shade so sunscreen/hats etc are a good idea.

First stop at Byron, but could not get a park. Husband & I got up at 5:30 to watch the sunrise at lighthouse. Was absolutely worth it and beautiful! Get there early as we double parked in car park not on road and quite a few people there already. Gates are locked so you can’t drive up to lighthouse. Many people were parked in front of gates etc and come down the hill to parking inspector there at 6am writing out nearly $300 fines.

If you come to byron Bay, you can’t leave without visit the Lighthouse. Around 7:45pm (summer time) is the sunset time, the perfect moment of the day to go to the light house and see breathtaking views from anywhere you look. And go home with some awesome pictures!

Just gorgeous. I spent a week here and visited to watch sunrises and whale watching. Parking at sunrise can be tricky- it’s better if you can walk. It’s only about 1.5kms from Main Beach and evening in the dark there are plenty of people walking/running to the top.

Absolutely stunning. A highlight of Byron Bay, for good reason. The lighthouse is good enough on its own for a visit. But if you want to walk, you don't need to do the full loop of the trail - from the lighthouse down to the beach is a great alternative. Cafe was great for light snacks and a cool drink. Parking at the Lighthouse is $8/hr but down the road is $4/hr. There's also other parking on the trail.

Well worth the visit. It was so hard to leave this view, had to drag myself away.

We attempted to visit the lighthouse twice. It is very hard to find parking and the parking fee is $8.00. I know its not much but we have never had to pay for parking to visit a lighthouse before anywhere. We ended up going early (7.30am) so we could possibly get a car space. We could not walk up from a lower car park as hubby had had a double knee replacement. The actual lighthouse does not open until 10am and by then there are no parking spots. We were disappointed that the visit to the lighthouse was not that great. Maybe they should put the parking money to fixing the huge potholes that wreck your vehicle on the way up to the lighthouse. We will inform people, do not waste your time or money trying to visit Byron Bay lighthouse.

The Byron Bay Lighthouse is iconic for Australia as it’s the most easterly point of Australia.
The walk to the Lighthouse go through the National Park where I was able to see a large blue tongue lizard, as Wellers a local Wallaby that was eating on the side of the steps each time I walk to the Lighthouse which was four times in a week.
The Lighthouse is really worth seeing at sunrise something that I remember for a long time. It’s also worth visiting at sunset.
The walk has many steps great for those people wanting to do the 10,000 steps and I recorded 57 floors on my pedometer.
Can’t wait to come back and do it again!!

A must to do when in Byron, great view from the top. Can walk out to the point if you like but when you have a 3 year old and an 18 month old, not that great of an idea. Saw pod of dolphins and a turtle. There is a car park at the top, entry fee, or you can park below and walk up. Decision is up to you
