A lovely protected sandy little beach with the best pizza in Byron only a few metres away. A grassy knoll for chilling, a seat for the fully clothed, or sand and waves for the more adventurous.

Nice white beach for hanging out with your family. Not too many people and the surf is good for body surfing, swimming, or beginner surfing. Lots of dogs which was great because we missed ours!

The north side of the breakwall has the best surf and the south side nearer to the hotels and restaurants is more popular with swimmers. Take a long walk, pick up an icecream or coconut for sale ($5). Be careful of rips in the ocean because of the strength of the currents. Ask lifesavers for help on where's best to... More

Don't forget the Hat and the Sunscreen, and some water for you and Rover. And like all good Hitchhikers in this Galaxy, you are going to... More

We walked down Belongil Beach from Elements Of Byron all the way into town. It was approximately a 5km walk but pleasant all the way. Low tide would be best as there is one spot where this walk would be difficult to pass at high tide.

Main beach was uncrowded in October during my visit. As an alternative, you can go to North Belongi Beach which is located to the north of Belongi Beach and you will need a car to get there as it is a few kilometers away. Go west from Byron Bay on Ewingsdale Street and turn right on Bayshore Drive to the... More
