This gives a good overview of the history of the river, paddle-steamers, the movement of animals, exploration whilst taking in the unique scenery of the Darling River.

We enjoyed our cruise down the Darling River and made it easier staying at Kidman’s Camp. It was very relaxing and the commentary was first class by someone who enjoyed what he was doing and proud of his surroundings. Takes about 1 hour and the...More

Just a short walk from the Kidman Caravan Park where we were staying made this an easy and enjoyable afternoon activity. We took the advice of others and took a couple of BYO drinks and sat on the outer deck as we cruised up the...More

We really love doing this type of thing. He is quite a talented man the skipper, not only does he do this but he is involved with the Crossley Engine which fellows just love and very good at promoting Bourke's tourism. One problem we did...More

a pleasant cruise along the Darling, from our digs at Kidman's Camp, down stream towards Bourke. To go all the way to the Bourke Wharf would take an hour, so our vessel, the Jandra, only goes half way. Its long enough to see the North...More

Spend an hour on this lovely boat sailing down the river and listen to the captain talking about the history of the riverboats from back in the 1890s and decades on. Also about the upkeep of the river and what is happening now . A...More

Disappointing that you can't actually see the paddle wheel. If you have the time do the cruise. If you are pushed for time don't be disappointed that you might have missed something spectacular.

It's the middle of the school holidays. There are tourists everywhere. The Jandra is not running due to needed repairs. Surely Bourke Shire Council would have made it a priority to have it FIXED before the school holidays. Very disappointing.

I agree with the others, we visited in July and it was cold in the mornings but the days turned out great. Would not advise going in summer as it would get very hot.
