On visiting the information Centre in Bourke I had decided to go see what the outback show was all about and at the time of my booking decided to go on the Jandra river cruise the next day. This was a lovely experience, and met...More

Lots of history and it all ties in with a visit to the "Back O' Bourke Exhibition Centre". If I didn't do the tour first I would have been very disappointed in the little cruise.

This gives a good overview of the history of the river, paddle-steamers, the movement of animals, exploration whilst taking in the unique scenery of the Darling River.

The trip down the Darling was very peaceful and enjoyable. It provides time to sit and enjoy the scenery listening to the history of the area and the Darling. The Captain gives a very information talk as we slowly cruise towards Bourke. We watched the...More

Spend an hour on this lovely boat sailing down the river and listen to the captain talking about the history of the riverboats from back in the 1890s and decades on. Also about the upkeep of the river and what is happening now . A...More

Disappointing that you can't actually see the paddle wheel. If you have the time do the cruise. If you are pushed for time don't be disappointed that you might have missed something spectacular.

I agree with the others, we visited in July and it was cold in the mornings but the days turned out great. Would not advise going in summer as it would get very hot.

We booked through the Back of Bourke Tourist Centre but paid on the boat. $16 adults and $10 for children.
