A good way to kill an hour or so. The workers are informed and take pride in their displays. Interesting to see the weavers hiding away too. Beautiful old house.

We were staying in Berry for a few days and decided to visit the Berry Museum which is now housed in the former council chambers and bank building. The museum has a great collection of memorabilia, photographs, and documents regarding the historical information of Berry. Entrance is free of charge although donations are welcome as it’s run by local volunteers.

An excellent museum, full of artifacts and stories on the history of Berry. Wheelchair accessible, if you can have someone check with the person on the desk

We were in Berry on a rainy day so this museum was a great find. There’s one room that kids can play with old typewriters, cash registers and a telephone switch bird. The other rooms are very interesting but challenging for a toddler who wanted to touch things. I think this is a great stop for a half hour walk through history.

Entry is free. Used to be a bank. The original vault still in the corner. Residence added behind/ adjoining. Each room has a different theme. I liked the war themed room and the family living area. The flood boat out back is good too. And the sailing room with shipwrecked schooner Coolangatta.

We had to wonder inside the museum to see what it was all about. The staff are very lovely and it was great to see the history of this small beautiful town.

We popped in to the Berry Museum on a quick stop in Berry on our drive to Fitzroy Falls and we were amazed by the extent of the collection of fascinating old things. The kids (8 and 6) loved the old typewriters, phones etc that they could play with and we loved the old organs, brass band instruments etc. Well worth a 20 minutes visit before you dig into your pie and coffee down the high street!
