we didn't think to make sure there was enough water for the falls to actually happen so we were surprised to make the trip out to trickling water! saying that though the gorge is still beautiful and the bush walks are lovely. be careful for leeches though as we had one sucker on us. also the road up there isn't... Unfortunately, the stream was not running when we visited. The is a well maintained dirt road to the top of the falls where there is a picnic area. There is wheelchair access to the top lookout which is fantastic. It hangs out over a 100 meter cliff with great views to the coast. The walks are through the forests and... More

When we visited the falls, there was not much water coming down from them. It had been dry recently, so this was no surprise. The hike around the falls is still worth doing anyway; this goes through a great variety of different vegetations and takes 2-3hrs.

Minyon Falls is very beautiful and worth the trek. We drove there, beware that the roads are narrow and rocky at times and care needs to be taken as there is a huge plunge off the side of the mountain if you go wrong. Heard people walk there too. If your a good careful driver, you will be fine and... More

A minute walk from carpark to a breath taking view from the ledge next to the top of the waterfall. Taking it the sheer drop, the massive colourful rock face across the gorge, the rainforest canopy below with the palm trees sticking through, see part of the river both before it plunges and as it continues down until it disappears... The drop is around 100 metres and the escarpments are so stark. Very accessible along paths and boardwalks. Don't forget to stop at the shop in Federal, it is wonderful and the Federal Cafe has the most amazing sushi and the coffee is divine.

For fit individuals, it should take no more than 2 hours return to get to the base of the waterfalls from the panic area. The trail is clearly indicated and the level of complexity is easy with some more technical parts at the end of the 4.5 kilometres that take you to the waterfall. On the way you can enjoy... More

Went to Minyon Falls from Byron Bay, it took about 45 mins drive on some very narrow roads at times but worth the trip, it was very spectacular and we enjoyed our time there.
