Great facilities for spending time at these falls.
We came whilst ex-tropical cyclone Seth was petering out, hence, the falls were flowing at full speed! Made for some great videos & long exposure pics. Wow!!!
Decent size car park, nice toilet facilities & extremely well built viewing platform.
Definitely worth a visit especially straight after a few days of rain.

Minyon falls is very easy to get to, I drove from Byron and took me only 40 mins. They have toilets at the top and the walk to the water fall viewing platform is only about 50 meters!. The falls are amazing. Must go and see

Visited on Friday 5th August. The drive is well worth it for the spectacular views when you get there, the viewing platform is amazing. If you feel energetic there are a couple walking track for the fit ones with a 3-4 hour return trip.

This place is magical and visually spectacular. The hike through the forest is divine, I felt transported to another world. Towards the end of the hike, there is no path and you have to climb and traverse big rock boulders, so the hike becomes full body, it's not for the faint-hearted. But once over the rocks when you reach the bottom of the falls it feels like you could stay there for days, soaking up the beauty, expansive space and refreshing fresh mountain water. I'm not indigenous but when I was here I could feel the wonder of the location and immediately felt connected to what I would assume would be a special place for our first nations ancestors. Be prepared - bug spray, water, food and snacks. It's a big day out in nature, but your soul will be rejuvenated. Well worth it.

Drove to mining falls which is a highlight of the Nightcap National Park. The picnic facilities were very good. The walk to the spectacular viewing platform was well constructed and wheel chair accessible. Unfortunately due to lack of rain the falls were a mere trickle. Will have to return to see how spectacular it is.

We did the trail hike from the main park down to the bottom of the waterfall. It's 4.5kms each way . The walk has some steep terrain, with narrow paths in some places, steps and muddy slippery areas. It also involves crossing the water over stones. It is a very beautiful walk/ Hike. We did with a baby in a carrier. It took us approx 1h30-2hrs. The scenery is beautiful.

A good day trip from Byron, a gentle winding road, with a little section of gravel. Good parking, bbq and toilets. Amazing views and good walk to base of waterfalls. Good lookout and thrilling being on edge of 100m lookout

A very picturesque waterfall with excellent views. It also features a 9km hiking trail down to the base. As you can imagine it’s very steep in parts but worth doing. Must allow a few hours to reach the bottom and back depending on your experience.

We visited from Byron Bay - about an hour and a half drive up. The road was a bit cut up and the last kilometre is dirt with a couple of serious wash outs on it, but passble in small 2 wheel drive if you take it slowly. Facilities limited to toilets and picnic tables - but all very recently constructed, well looked after and clean.
The lookout is well worth the drive and easily accessible. We could not do the walk to the bottom of the falls due to the trail being closed - I would have liked to get down there amongst those ancient palm forests to look back up.
We drove back via Bangalow and recommend it for an easy day trip.

Lots of parking, toilets available. A short walk to the platform at the top with good views. Need most of a morning to do the 7 odd km walk to the bottom and back. Nice camping area nearby, need to book.

where do you park your car for the walk to the falls? is there a parking spot? plus is it really unsuitable for normal cars to get there?
Written 22 December 2017

I would like to know how to get there from the gold coast?
Written 9 August 2017
Use a GPS and head for Byron Bay. The place is in Nightcap-National-Park and be aware the track is not suitable for disabled or small cars. It is unreal how potted and bumpy it is.

How do we get there from the gold coast?
Written 9 August 2017
There not many ways... you definitely have to go through Mullumbimby, streets are not the best honestly, it definitely worth the time.
Just head south from Gold Coast, follow Mullumbimby and from there there are plenty of indication. Make sure to get to te bottom of the waterfall. Not the easiest walk ever but sensational!
Hope I have been helpful.
Have fun!
