This is an excellent hike with a beautiful view at the top as a reward. Would strongly recommend proper hiking boots and poles. Not suitable for flip flops or sandals.

This is billed as a key must on Manitoulin Island and indeed the view off the escarpment are great. The information about the trail, both in getting there and once on it, is fairly sparse though; my wife and I were unaware of the ladder...More

We did the hike while on our trip around the area. We had just finished doing the treacherous Bruce Trail near the grotto, so this hike seemed easier, but I would rate it generally moderate. We are fairly fit, young, individuals and it took us...More

The path is pretty easy to follow with some great look out points. Make sure you go all the way to the E look out.

A great hike. Do the whole loop. Go counter-clockwise so you get the best exposures during the last half. Some awesome views along the niagara escarpment. Signage is poor, but I understand they are trying to improve that.

Parts of the trail are quite challenging. The trail is well-marked and provides excellent vistas overlooking the Bay and the islands. The proximity to many interesting geological features of the Escarpment was fascinating. Be sure to bring your camera.

Wear good climbing walking shoes, saw many people with dress shoes trying to walk a rough and at times muddy trail. The trail is hard going at times but the views are well worth it

This is a very challenging hike due to the poor trail conditions and absence of trail markers and boards. Be sure to search on-line for an updated trail map prior to hiking. A local we met phoned her daughter while hiking for an update on...More
