My little old dog loves this place. The walk isn't difficult even for an old Jack Russell. Choose a sunny day if possible but if not the mist in the valley can be beautiful.

we made the mistake of an early morning visit and the the mist was down preventing panoramic views of the area, however we did enjoy the walk up to the tower. The tower was not open on our visit, no cafe, no shop, no car...More

It is a steep walk up to the tower, not for the mobility impaired or faint hearted. Nothing to do at the top but the views are fabulous on a clear day.

Great walk for the kids and dogs. Even on a sunny day, can be a bit nippy and windy at the tower. Nice village for a meander at the base.

Always check that the tower is open before walking to the top if that’s why you are going up. The peel tower is great if it’s open but even if is not the walk and the views are worth the walk anyway. You can take...More

My son and I climbed the hill and got to the tower, it was closed! maybe should have looked it up on the internet before we went, but apart from that it desperately needs a good sand blast to clean it up! Bit of a...More

Peel Tower is such a dominant landmark that if you're anywhere near Ramsbottom you really can't miss it. It's a very fine monument to Sir Robert Peel and opened in 1852 apparently built with a £1,000 public subscription. Having established that at today's prices it's...More
