A nice area to walk through, relaxing to watch the river and canal, with swans in the river, and nice scenery with the canal boats in the basin. You can feel the history of the area. Shame about the built up fairground which ruins the...More

The basins and waterside around them are a nice area. Moored boats and the new development's around them not too much out of place. Is somewhat marred by the amusement area which has had the wall and trees which protected it from view removed and...More

Driving through the Stourport one way system, to reach the canal basins, you keep straight ahead where the road to the centre of the town turns sharply right. I imagine it would be extremely busy on summer weekends, but on a sunny November afternoon the...More

A very pleasant area to while away time with a good pubs, cafes and fun fair all close to hand. Or just watch the canal boats and river craft go by. All well maintained and popular in the summer.

Perhaps I was fortunate in that there were four longboats using the locks. Very interesting to watch - looked quite hard work for those operating the locks, especially as it was a very hot day.
