A lovely day out for all. My daughter enjoyed the train ride and loved meeting Santa. All the staff were very friendly and sang carols with the children on the train. All the kids got a soft toy as a gift, which was of good quality.

We take a trip from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth and back about every other year and it is always a highly enjoyable mix of nostalgia, lovely countryside and views plus excellent real ale which is to be had at both terminuses (Railwaymans Arms at Bridgnorth and King & Castle in Kidderminster). The Bridgnorth station buildings are original but, despite the appearance,... More

Not a cheap day our but well-worth it. The scale of the railway was surprising and impressive. There seemed no end of locomotives, rolling stock, sheds, shunting areas and sidings. Every station looked like something from a bygone day, each with something of interest. You could spend the whole day alighting and exploring different places. There seemed to be dozens... More

Just lovely. There is something special about a stem train, old fashioned station staff. The museum was excellent & the staff most helpful. Lovely just to wander around & take phots.

I bought a footplate experience for my husband for his birthday. 8 like minded souls spent the day driving and firing a full sized steam train up and down the tracks at SVR while their guests sat in the carriages behind in great comfort admiring the view and occasionally getting off to explore (when stops allowed). I cant thank the... More

Called in to Arley Station as 30 years ago I was a volunteer at this station, the days before children and emigrating to Australia. Informed my wife that I had painted the white line down the edge of the platform, the field where I camped, and the waiting room where I would sleep in the winter with a coal fire.... More

We were lucky to be in the area just after the "Flying Scotsman" had been in Kidderminster. Luck in that the carriages were still here and we were able to ride and enjoy them. There were multiple engines operating the day we were there and even with persistent rain, the ride out and back with a stop at the Highley... More

Got on train at Highley station, travelled to Kidderminster, spent a pleasant half an hour round Kidder station then got back on the train and travelled to Bridgnorth. walked from the station in Bridgnorth down the hill and along to the clif railway and travelled up to hightown. We had a good look round the town before catching a later... More

A fantastic journey into the past drop of at any of the stations for lovely river walks. Visit the Engine house at Highley , a chance to get up close to the engines awaiting overhaul and watch the trains passing while having some refreshments. Try the ship Inn for a beer, a meal by the river side. Go into Bridgnorth... More
