We visited the museum with our two grandchildren (8 and 11) They were delighted to follow the footprints, mark up their cards, and play with the exhibits. They particularly liked the fossil dig, and dressing up in Elizabethan clothes. On the way down, they discovered two friendly ladies in the conference room - with massive chocolate cakes - what more... More

I visited this establishment about three years ago I think. Two of the rooms and the refurbishment in general has further raised this place in my estimation. But first, the boring things. Although there are double yellow lines directly outside the museum, adjacent there are places on both sides of the street where you can park for up to 2... More

An absolutely brilliant museum. There's something for all here. The most amazing Collection of Bronze Age and other periods. There's also a library available for research etc. Brilliant - a must visit place when in Devizes.

A museum full of history. The prehistoric collection was the most favourite part of the museum, really insightful and instructive and a good harbinger of my forthcoming visit to Stonehenge. The library was also a lovely place for research and concentration. The staff was very friendly, too.

A friendly little museum in the heart of Devizes, this is a real gem for those interested in the Neolithic period. It contains an array of finds that are exhibited beautifully. Well worth the small entrance price!

As a keen museum visitor I enjoy it when one stumbles across a small museum where a real effort has been made to present material well. This is one such ,there is little startling material but a real effort has been made to present it well (although the effort fails somewhat at the end when one switches from early humans... More

I am very pleased that you enjoyed your visit. You are quite right about 'finishing the scheme off'! We would love to update all the displays and to place in timeline order, but that will take us a while. Come and see us again when you are next in the area and see how we have got on. More

A gem of a museum with displays of a very high standard, especially interesting for anyone who has walked the Stonehenge landscape or seen Time Team and related programmes - this is a 'must see'. Very friendly and helpful staff, also Devizes is a lovely town to visit especially on Market day. Lots of good cafe's for lunch and recommend... More

From a general enquiry when visiting the museum, was introduced to Michael Cornwell to track down a newspaper clipping, turned out to be the historian of my grandfathers Wiltshire Regiment. What I thought I knew has been multiplied ten fold. his patience in explaining the few records I had and his locating of the gravesite, has made my trip from... More
