It is a 3.5 to 4hrs drive if you are leaving from Karimabad so best is to leave early in the morning around 7:00am the road is smooth. The earlier you reach the better as less crowd, nice views, you can see local wild life on the way such as Ibex and Yaks, not to mention you passu cones! Good place to just spend some time and see Pakistan China border.

As everyone knows that khunjarab pass is the highest paves pass in the world. We were very excited to go there.. I had read many reviews but non of them mentioned that because of high altitude there is issues of less oxygen. I was with my family and I am a senior person aged 61... Had young people and the youngest being 5 year old. As we reached me and my daughter had duzzi feeling. We both didn't get out of the car... The young one also could not express and came and sat in the car. I started feeling as if my brain was freezing. We hurried back. The feeling of my brain freezing got increasing.. I couldn't breath. Non of us was advised to keep having water.. We should hydrate as much as possible.. Well alhumdulila it started getting better. One younger one also fell deep sleep for quite some time. Please all those who ho there should have lots of water and keep yourself hydrated. We could see yak roaming around. The final check post was not open for covid restrictions

Feelings are different to being at World Highest Border on Earth Khunjerab Pass having Elevation of 4695 Meters from Sea Level 😊
We have highest Crossing on Earth. Daily Hundreds of Passengers travel through by crossing khunjerab pass on both Side 🇨🇳🇵🇰
When you See Sceneries for few minutes by ignoring people's it's feels like out of this world. This is one of the only place in Pakistan where you find Snow in every Season. 😊🗻

I have been to this Place (Pakistan Side) for 6 times starting from August 2014. It is always scenic and breathing problems at 16000 ft always happen especially when you are not acclamatized to it from Sost.

You need to walk for 10 minutes from Parking to get closer to the Border Monument.
Weather is chilly there even in summer.

The Snow Capped peak always give you breathtaking views and neighbouring visitors a cherish and treat to be with them. Security personnel are cooperative in nature provided you are following security protocols.

Had to drive a good 3-4 hours from Karimabad to get here. Lots of mountains as you pass through the national park to get to it.
It’s approx 1.5 hours from Sost and the road is good.
The border can get cold so I would take warm clothing, there is a toilet there and the soldiers are friendly if you respect the rules.

Khunjarab by Pass is the highest border between China & Pakistan. This mesmerizing place takes courage & real hard work to its explorers. The magical scenery around while you are on top of the world, it is something that you cannot describe in words. This place worth to be must visited once in a life. The ultimate climax of the trip on the KKH is the Khunjerab Pass, which is at an altitude of 4,733 meters (15,620 feet). It is one of the highest paved road connecting Pakistan Northern area to China western provinces. This place is breath taking, mother of the beauty, mind boggling etc.

After 10 days tour of Pakistan travelling through the beautiful scenery of Pakistan we finally reached our goal the border between Pakistan and China there was snow all around even in September got to see it before evev heavier snow fell thus making it impossible to reach this border
This border being the highest point to cross between 2 countries
It would be nice if they issued a short stay visa if only for a few hours so we could say we went to China
Above all it was awesome and well worth it.

You have to travel through Khunjerab Natural Park. Road is excellent and the views are breath taking. Take warm clothes with you as it can get very cold.

Unfortunately we went only 20 Km before the Pass as authorities do not let any tourist to visit the Pass, which is very sad and people come from around the word to visit this pass.
Karakoram highway is very good condition and views after Tashkurgan is stunning. I wish we all can visit Kunjerab Pass.
