The Westmoreland Museum of American Art is located just 35 miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the heart of historic Greensburg, tucked amidst the breathtaking Laurel Highlands. The Westmoreland is a regional museum with a national presence. But, it's more than a museum. It's a destination that presents a unique look at American life. Built to inspire and engage, it's a place for people from all corners of the world to gather and experience American art. The Westmoreland's collection includes works by major artists from four centuries. It also captures the region's rich agrarian and industrial past by placing local history within the greater context of our nation. The Museum is home to more than 3,400 objects of fine and decorative American art, including a new collection of post-1950 artwork. And, every work of art has a story to tell. After a dramatic renovation and expansion, The "New" Westmoreland has become a true 21st century museum with increased gallery and education spaces, enhanced community-oriented programming, and an architecturally-dynamic and LEED-certified new wing to feature traveling exhibitions. Visitors to The "New" Westmoreland will build a deeper relationship with the Museum's diverse collection, and develop a deeper appreciation for American art.

The Westmoreland never gets much love. Which is a shame, because the museum is excellent, and while it may be small, it has everything a big city museum does. I just went there with my children, husband and father in law recently. I'd been curious since the remodel. I'm also a museum professional, so I geek out over different things... More

We visited the museum on a Tuesday afternoon. There were other patrons, but it was not overly crowded so we were able to view all of the art forms at a relaxing pace. The renovated building is beautiful, and the art is enjoyable. The only thing that was missed was the wonderful collection of antique toys that was on display... More

Haven't been here for thirty years. What wonderful renovations they have made. Impressed and enlightened on the history of the area and local artists. Coffee shop to stop after finished.

Having just been to the Flight 93 Memorial, I wanted to come to the museum for a little reflection and some peace and quiet. The last time I was here was before the renovations began. I was completely amazed at the beauty in the architecture. It was a fitting job for such a small slice of art in Westmoreland County.... More

The first Sunday of the month is free admission, but worth the price of $15 per adult if you go any other time. The Museum is beautiful and more exhibits than I expected. Very friendly workers and it was very easy to get from one exhibit to another. It is also child friendly, with some areas for hands on for... More

Such a pleasant surprise! The Whitney should be jealous of their excellent collection of 19 & 20th century American art.

We had visited this museum before it expanded and were impressed, but our recent visit was even more interesting as the collection had expanded. The person attending each room was interested in conversation about the collection and our visit. Parking and finding is a non-problem situation.
