There are several great hiking trails to enjoy for the outdoor enthusiast. The park also abuts the Michaux State Forest which offers even more trails for the hiker. Caledonia has a nice swimming pool near the park office, picnic areas, open fields near Route 30, camping of various types, and some historical sites. The park entry is free, lots of... More

While I am only giving this place 2 circles, I will say that I would ABSOLUTELY try to stay here again in the future. We made a reservation to camp here in early December (one of the few remaining state parks still open that time of year) while spending some time exploring several National Park sites. Deer season was also... More

This park is a great place to take your friends or family for a camping week, or just a day trip. You can hike, wade in the creek or swim in the public swimming pool- beautiful pool, by the way! There are picnic tables & charcoal grills to use, & I personally, have met several friends for breakfast there- grilling... More

We live really close to Caledonia, and it's a very popular spot for us. We just went for a walk through the mountains with our dog, it's very pretty right now with all the trees in their fall foliage. Caledonia is a free to visit park, and they have lots of pull offs and parking lots for you to stop... More

Six adults stayed at the House for a mini-vacation. The house was spacious, with nice kitchen area, dining room, living room, enclosed sun room, 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. It was very comfortable. We walked a few of the trails, which had beautiful scenery, especially since it was autumn. Caledonia is a short distance from Gettysburg. It is also... More

Five 1971 Shippensburg State College grads gathered in the house at Caledonia for for four days of fun and frolic. Our home base was very comfortable with 3 bedrooms, nice kitchen space and plenty of room for chatting! Close enough for a day trips to Shippensburg and Gettysburg as well as local farm markets and even a 1000 head dairy... More

My husband and I visited Caledonia State Park to walk some of the trails. Beautiful scenery and clear trails for walking. We love this park and will definitely visit again.

Second visit here, wish it was easier to navigate but we didn't have time to fool around with the maps. Hiked a few miles to the dam and saw some neat scenery. Would like to come back and explore some more.

Day use area is great. Nice picnic area, creek, and pool. Rest areas new-ish and cleaner than camp area, Very nice for day outing. The camping area needs a little love. The bathrooms are really bad. No shower for us until we got home. . Camp sites are small, open with very little privacy. Hiking trails are nice and access... More
