As it was early October there were very few people about as we drove through wooded areas and spent time on a deserted beach. You could easily think you were by the sea as the lake is so large with boats etc. on it. We...More

Fall is a great time to visit, avoiding crowds & having the place nearly to yourself, returning it to its more peaceful, natural state. Clean, many facilities for beaches, picnics, hiking, birding, biking, history, etc. Visit the lighthouse, a must!

This is such a nice state park. Nice beaches for swimming. I go here at least once or twice a year. Definitely worth it.

I was surprised at how large it is and how many beaches there were. Many people were on bike rides, wished I had one with me. Nice relaxing summer day here and see other sights of Erie, PA also.

Even though we had rain we took a walk down the lighthouse path. It goes straight for about 1.5 miles through the woods and bogs.

Wish we could have been there on a nice day. We had abnormally warm, but there was a constant light rain, so we did our visit mostly by car with short walks. I can see that this would be a wonderful summer spot, with lots...More

I was only at Beach 11, but I heard the lifeguard tell someone else that 11 has the least waves, and it is pretty flat to get in the water. It worked for me as I was using a cane. There were many small children there and... More
