Mercer Museum is eclectic and fun. Dr. Mercer collected the tools of the 19th and 18th century and then built this museum to share them. Don't expect lots of labels, but do expect interesting discoveries around every turn. And there will be lots of turns - the museum building is as quirky as the collection. Be prepared to spend some... More

Be prepared to be enlightened, and awed by this place. A mini history museum with Smithsonion quality. Many floors of one man's incredible collection. Not to be missed. A day trip from the trip state area...we will be back

Went there in a whim and we were amazed!! Well planned layout. A must see if you're in the area. Will take about 2 hrs to get thru. Worth the trip. A smaller chasm of our American history museum in DC. Nothing else like it and we've been to quite a few. Whatever you have to do to get there,go

This museum contains artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum is 7 floors and packed with thousands of artifacts. There are stairs leading from floor to floor, but there is also an elevator. Just about anything that you can imagine from early life in the US is on display. Small children probably will not be very interested. We... More

Our family of 5 adults visited over the recent Christmas holidays. We bought a “Mercer Experience ticket” that included admission for both the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle. Website gives details of the many permanent and rotating exhibits on display showing small and large objects/documents from American life of the 18th & 19th Century—there is a lot to see on... More

Very different then most. The Merced museum is a collection of all the technology of America Pre Industrial Age. What really makes this a fascinating experience is how it's exhibited. You wander through cubby holes and open spaces with exhibits on display in front of you and hanging over you. Merced spent his life collecting all this material. If you... More

The Mercer Museum is a unique piece of history in the heart of quaint Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Mercer tiles are sought after and used for kitchen backsplashes all over Bucks County. This incredible castle-like estate tells of times past and you can see clay tiles being made. Then, at the end, you can purchase beautiful tiles as ornaments, coasters,... More

This is less of a museum and more of a display of someones overcrowded garage. He was the original hoarder with some interesting pieces.
