Have been to Child's Park many times. Decent amount of parking with bathrooms located in the parking lot. A few different trails with beautiful waterfalls. The best part is that this is a free park. Would definitely recommend!!!

Although the park is officially closed we ventured in for a short hike recently. The carnage of recent storms is fully evident with trees knocked down like dominos all over the park and, as yet, no clear-up operation in sight. It is still possible to...More

Several winter storms have left major destruction of all areas of Childs Park and its 3 waterfalls. The NPS says it will take years to recover from the devastation. If you are in the area Raymondskill Falls, 10 min drive, is open. It has paths,...More

A great park for a hike and a picnic. I live right around the corner. Unfortunately, because of the 2018 blizzard that we experienced, the park is closed indefinitely.

Unfortunately the park is closed this summer due to the decimating storm but every childhood summer was spent here.

Lots and lots of waterfalls on a very easy hike. There are some roots and branches to climb over but nothing major. It's a great hike for young and old and you see a ton of waterfalls. My kids had a blast. Parking fills up...More

This place used to great. Had two parking spots and a nice hike. But they recently redid it. Now it has one parking spot. All the way at the top of the trail away from the falls. They made it to accommodate people who come...More

The storm damage to this set of falls is severe. The park is closed. We ventured down the path a bit and saw trees down everywhere. They looked like toothpicks thrown around. They crashed onto the man made stairs and destroyed the gazebo that had...More

Park is closed due to damage from storm. We wanted to see the waterfalls but were told too many trees down from storm. You can get into Raymondskill Falls nearby.

Swimming is prohibited. There are tons of signs. There are no lifeguards and no beaches, lots of slippery rocks. That being said, many people wade and hope no park ranger catches them!

You used to be able to bring your dogs now they are not allowed and there is a sign telling you that. I admit that we often see people with their dogs and if you don't run into a ranger which is a rarity there is no one to... More
