Went to the park to find the largest last stand of virgin timber east of the Mississippi River. It was amazing to see the white pine and hemlock trees.

We have camped, stayed in a cabin, picnicked, hiked, biked, tubed, canoed, kayaked at Cook Forest State Park. It has been wonderful and we have had great experiences. Sometimes, it rains and then we stay indoors and watch the fireplace burn!!!

Hiking canoeing fine dining all there it is still as magical a place as it was in the 1970s. Just hanging out by the river having an ice cream was fun.

Excellent hiking trails. Some original growth forest. Kids fishing area. Scenic river. Our family stayed in a cabin near the river for a week. We had a great time.

A lovely place to hike, with a few campgrounds, small theme parks, and canoeing. Touristy during tourist season, of course 😀.

Trees that are over a century old along well marked trails. It was a stunning hike, one that we were both thankful we did.

Cook Forest is a perfect place to relax. I enjoy it year round! Hiking and canoeing in the summer. Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter! Get out in nature and clear your head!

Cook Riverside Cabins! Right in the heart of the park and they own the tube and canoe livery.
