This was a beautiful hidden gem. We were camping and looking for attractions near by. This popped up. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our guide, Jim was very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the upstairs was closed because they now offer weekend stays in the bedroom.s. Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

Beautiful venue for a wedding. The DCNR officer was as kind and helpful as she could be. However, the woman that runs the main office was horrible. On our special day all she wanted to do was run interference. We had the venue and rented rooms until 4:00PM but she made us vacate by 3:45 after a 3:00PM wedding. She hassled my 89 year old father about his service dog. Instead of assisting our wedding party and trying to make our day the best it could be she kept getting in the way and putting up obstacles. She would have done a better job if she would have just stayed in her office... We had a great ceremony in spite of her, not because of her and that was disappointing considering how much we spent on this venue.

I love the drive alone just to get there. Its winding, beautiful and immersed in the forest. I would definitely go when you can get a tour of the mansion. There is a lot of history inside and outside of the mansion. Plus, several hiking trails that leave and return from the area. Bring your camera! You are going to want to take photos.

The open house events during the holiday season are always worth the trip up the hill. The mansion is open to the public at various times, check the schedule before visiting.

Huge place..we went around Christmas and it was all decked out in lights. They sometimes have homemade goodies and hot drinks..but there is a small chance and it gets very busy so there is alot of standing in the cold

Lovely place. Beautiful decorations for the holiday. Friendly staff. Great entertainment. Only drawback is no handicap accessibility to second floor.

Wife and two kids went during the open house. The upstairs was open and got to see the rooms. Love the mansion and views.

Strongly recommend if you want a place to relax and walk around. They have a big garden at the mansion and plenty of trails to hike.

Go, take a picnic basket and enjoy yourself.

This is a beautiful old home up on a hill overlooking the Cumberland Valley. It's in the King's Gap State Park, which is well worth a visit, esp. in the spring or fall. Sometimes the park holds events for children, and sometimes for adults. There is always something going on if you check the website for King's Gap. The mansion also has some interesting art on the walls.

We were just there for a friends wedding, what a site. The view from the Mansion was spectacular! The inside was great and comfortable. We even spent the night and it was all fantastic.

Kings Gap, as people around Carlisle know it, is a very beautiful location. The drive up is wonderful with lots of deer to be seen. Once at the top you see the mansion. During the summer they have music programs in the evening. We take our chairs and enjoy the music as well as being outdoors. Food vendors are on site.
