About
Birds of Prey Experiences - By appointment only. Up close personal encounters with amazing birds of prey that will delight and amaze and I guarantee they will have a great time. My customer comments say it all. Sorry we are not a centre where you can turn up at any time for a look around. Our experiences are pre-booked. My birds of prey days give lots of handling and up close experiences. I have small groups of up to six participants (20-30 are not uncommon elsewhere). We concentrate on being with the birds - handling, flying, feeding and finding out all those special fascinating facts. I like lots of questions and delve into my 45 years of falconry experience to answer them. I have a great location here in the countryside, marvelous birds and a generous welcome. This is a Birds of Prey Experience That Won't Disappoint - This is A Gift As Special As You Are!

Well what can I say - I bought the experience for my husband Jon - with me as spectator.
Charlotte was amazing as were the birds - 3 hours in the sun , amazing views and fantastic host. Charlotte was passionate and knowledgeable about the birds and put everyone at ease. The birds were amazing - Jon really enjoyed the experience as did I. I took some amazing photos and videos of the owls and red kite. It’s well worth the money and if anyone is thinking of booking - do it you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Charlotte! You do such a great job x

A brilliant day with Charlotte and her feathered “team”. Charlotte is knowledgeable, patient, enthusiastic and entertaining and made sure that the whole group had every opportunity to engage with the wonderful birds of prey in the way that they were most comfortable with and with infinite patience, giving us all time to take all the photos we inevitably wanted to take.
The day included so much more than we expected and we wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the experience to anyone.
Thank you Charlotte, Duncan and Andrew for the day and more especially for all the time and dedication you clearly put into making sure your fabulous birds are well cared for and that your visitors leave with some special memories.

My husband and daughter had gifted me this experience for my 60th birthday. This was an absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish.
We were initially greeted with a warm welcome from Duncan. We had a small group of 6 participants with 2 spectators. Duncan showed us all of the birds in their aviaries and said which ones we would meet during the days session. He brought individual birds of prey out, talked about the birds nature and welcomed questions throughout. We all had at least 2 opportunities to have the birds land on our glove. During the middle of the day we had a wonderful lunch, which was included in the package.
This was a truly memorable day. Thank you.

Excellent few hours with my Grandson. He managed to handle quite a few different birds and a big thankyou to Andrew who went out of his way to assist especially with the Eagle Owl flying to the glove. A very educational few hours with Andrew making sure everyone had an equal participation.

A must do experience if you have not already done.

Thanks

Mark

A gift for my wife's birthday and a gift very much filled with joy,
Attended the birds on hand experience at Alders fishery,
Easy to find , easy parking and immediately met with Andrew with a kestrel resting on his hand, a short walk to the calm and relaxed area to experience the birds first hand from flying person to person resting on your hand and being encouraged to take as many photos as you possibly can,
Andrew with his many years of experience and vast knowledge of the birds made you really appreciate what you was experiencing ,
the final bird of the day involved moving into the woodland and experiencing a bird flying to your raised hand that was bigger than my three dogs combined, (small dogs )
A very relaxed, non rushed, awesome experience that I highly recommend,
A great day to remember,
Thankyou Andrew from myself (Darren ) and rachel

Experience carried out at the Milton Keynes site. No issues with booking, original date was cancelled due to the weather, I got a text the day before and arranged for another date a few weeks later, no issues at all. Checked the day before as the weather had been terrible again but luckily I had picked the one day that was sunny and warm between the storms and rain.
The experience itself was amazing, a good variety of birds, friendly knowledgeable instructor and the opportunity to be up close with the birds all the time.
If you want something a little different to the usual experiences I highly recommend booking!

Had a fantastic day at the bird in the hand experience bought as a present by my partner. as soon as we arrived charlotte ( 1 of the falconers and guide ) could not of made us feel more welcome and explained how the day would go and pointed us in the direction of our facilities for the day .once introductions were done we chose our gauntlet for handling the birds and our experience started . 1 after another we were treated to close ups of some amazing birds of prey and able to have them land on our glove under the watchful eye of charlotte the falconer . it must be said the wealth of information provided by charlotte throughout the day was extrordinary and really had everyone in the group captivated and all of this set in beautiful surroundings .we stopped for lunch which was made on the premises and served to us by duncan and again the food was excellent and everyone thouroughly enjoyed it .to finish off i would say that the day was one of the best days i have had if not the best experience and my love for birds of prey is stronger now thanks to charlotte and everyone else involved in this truly amazing experience

This Falconry Day was a real birthday treat. We had a small group of 5 plus 1 spectator taking photos. Charlotte, our falconer, was personable and absolutely fabulous. Her depth of knowledge about all the birds was incredible and she helped us get the perfect photos of the birds. We flew many of the owls from their perch to our gloves and back and also in the woodland. We also flew many of the other birds of prey in a variety of situations. We shared a tasty lunch and tea/coffee/water was available all day. Head falconer, Andrew, introduced us to his "robotic crow" which was fun to watch in the sky. We were in a perfect location flying the birds in fields and woodland where plenty of wild birds were flying overhead. A very big "thank you" to Charlotte and Andrew for such a memorable day in such a perfect setting. I look forward to my return visit.

This was a surprise event for my wife’s big O. When she found out she was very nervous as she is very wary of all animal/birds, however Andrew was brilliant at do the first bird introduction. And by the end of the experience my wife was not worried at all even with the big Eagle Owl. All 5 of us had a great experience and took many photos and videos of these great birds. Andrew answered all of our questions and is obviously very passionate about his birds and their well being. Alders farm was great venue for this event.

I brought this experience as a gift for my husbands birthday. What a fantastic day. Our host made us feel so welcoming, and his knowledge showed through in his love for the birds. The 3 hour experience flew by and was so much fun. Definitely would recommend and would buy the experience again for other family members
