The coastline in this area is as varied and scenic as anywhere on the Oregon Coast. There are beaches, surfers, tide pools, sea spouts and lots of viewing areas and picnic spots. You cannot miss along this area of coast, especially on a sunny day.

Yachats has a lot of easy access beach areas. We spent a couple of days here and saw whales passing by -despite having spent a lot of time at the Oregon coast, it was the first time we actually saw whales :)

This is an area that is well worth a little exploring. The basalt shoreline is really gorgeous. Close to Thor's Well and Cape Perpetua.

Pretty place with lots of pretty views of the coast. One of my favourite places along the whole Oregon coast to sit and relax.

The coastline along Cape Perpetua is filled with spectacular views. There are many hiking trails so bring your walking shoes! Check out Spouting Horn near Thor's Well during high tide. When the spout of water shoots high into the air as waves get compressed under...More

We keep coming back to Yachats for its wild coastline. You will find a lot of wild, rocky sections, sea stacks, peninsulas for whale watching, and places where the surf blasts up through a blow hole or a cauldron formed by water and rock. Keep...More

The coastline views along Highway 101 in Oregon are breathtaking. There are plenty of safe parking areas so that you can stop your vehicle & take in the beauty with your eyes and your camera. Unfortunately, there is frequently fog in this area even in...More

My husband and I enjoyed an Oregon summer coastal vacation. We found the town of Yachats totally charming and picturesque. We stayed at the Drift Inn off Hwy 101 and it was by far the nicest accommodation we had for the duration of our vacation...More

This is my favorite drive on the Oregon coast simply because it's breathtakingly beautiful no matter where you look. Every time you see a state park and think that that particular one would be great to picnic at, another one comes into view, and you...More

There is an interesting beach just south of “downtown” at the mouth of the Yachats River. Turn right immediately after crossing the bridge, and there is a small parking area and stairs to the beach.

Yachats has a small park on the south side of town with a nice sandy beach where the river flows into the ocean. There is a small staircase that leads down to the sandy area and when the tide is out, there is a lot of level... More

We stayed at the Ziggurat that was beautiful and right on the water about 5 miles from town. You can go to AirBNB and search for "Yachats Ziggurat" to check on availability.
