While driving down the Oregon Coast, this was an unplanned stop. What a pleasant surprise. I know most reviews recommend high tide, we were here at low tide. Kids loved it. You can walk onto the rocks below at the churn. And there's another pathway...More

It's only a short hike from the parking area down to the Devil's Churn. If you choose your timing, high tide and surf, the churn in the area is spectacular. Don't tempt the waves by getting too close to them.

I can understand why some people might describe the Churn in negative terms. Here's the deal: the wave action is most spectacular and impressive during a storm, when the wind is howling in off the ocean, the rain stinging your cheeks, the sand blowing into...More

Don't listen to the people who say it was terrible or not worth going, it's a great spot. It's right outside of the main part of Yachats. For young children, the walk might be a bit dangerous, and being on the rocks would be equally...More

We spend a lot of time in this area and stay in Yachats just a few miles away. The power of Mother Nature is so amazing here......its easy to get lured in too close and I have to say...please don't. Use your camera at a...More

It was pretty much breathtaking to witness the power of God's creation here. Watching waves crash around and being able to actually feel them pounding the rocks was unbelievable. The sight and sound kept us rapt for about a half hour, just staring.

The Devil’s Churn sounds dramatic. The land and seascape of the Siuslaw National Forest is amazing. You will be compelled to pull over every chance you get to photograph the beauty of this place.

Oh my gosh, what can I say. Excitement abounds as the waves crash against the rocks. Well worth the walk down although it can look daunting from the top I walked down with a family member who has a hard time walking and she did...More

There is a parking fee for the lots on site- but if you buy the parking pass from the ranger station, it is good for all park stops along the way.

Google Yachats tide conditions 2015. It's also worth noting that other weather conditions such as swell, storm etc will have an effect on your experience so watch the weather forecast for the area.
