You can see the rock quite well from the road. My husband has trouble walking very far so this is a plus in our book. The park area was a lot bigger than I had expected and quite lush in May. We drove on past...More

If you visit someone in eastern OR you MUST visit the state park. It is simple and clean to the eyes....you can have short walks and from the edge, you can have a peak at the almighty Columbia River. One of my favorite places !!!

Lots of trees. Grass sites. Big pull through spots. Nice pool. Very quiet. Great place for pets. Only $25.00. One of our favorite spots so far. Hat Rock itself, is pretty impressive. Beautiful scenery in this state park.

Good to walk with the kids. Needs better walking paths. I really love the little bridge they have, and the clean bathrooms.

Tell most people you're off to HRSP and they'll usually ask: Where? But that's ok, Hat Rock is one of OR's little gems. While it may not have the majesty of Crater Lake or the throngs of tourists at Multnomah Falls, that's totally fine. If...More

Always one for unusual geological formations, we were drawn to Hat Rock because it was only a mile or two off our long A-to-B drive and we thought it would be a nice diversion. This was mid-September, and there was hardly a soul to be...More

Beautiful, restful, historical, hiking, fishing, boating and a great camp ground you drive past to get here. Only 7 miles from town too. Take a chair, a book and relax you deserve it!

Lisa, the people next to us bought wood and made a fire in a fire pit. Pretty basic stuff, but in all honesty I did not pay much attention because we carry our own BBQ. Nice folks there; give them a call. Have fun.
