We toured on Saturday July 2nd and it should have been miserable from too much traffic, but we toured from 4:30-7:30pm and it was wonderful. Still busy but very manageable. We saw everything we wanted to see, and hiked a bit, too. Recommend going late...More

Amazing on a clear day! Just watch out for all the other folks wanting to stop for photo ops! Be sure and go both upstairs and downstairs to see the architecture. Views of the Columbia River are abundant from just about all angles.

We got off of I 84 to follow the old Route 30 to the east. You are above the river here and pullouts and stops have wonderful views. Crown Point Vista State Park has a building that was closed when we visited, but we saw...More

Beautiful and breathtaking. Main stops are vista house at crown point, Latourell, Shepperd’s Dell, Bridal Veil, Wahkeena and the most fantastic of them all, 620-foot Multnomah, one of the tallest waterfalls in the nation. There are no words to describe it. If possible avoid long...More

Whether you drive along the old Highway route (which I highly Recommend) or the modern highway, the view are amazing of the Gorge. My advise is to get off the main HWY 84 and travel the OLD Historic Columbia River Highway. You'll be treated to...More

this was a good one. The gorge is special, your eyes will be tired for a week, from trying to take it all in. It's worth it. Check out Larch Mountain. The view is epic.

It's our starting point from the hotel, to all the falls and all the way to Bonneville Dam. It was a breathtaking view. I would love to spent more time but we have limited time so it was very quick to enjoy to the fullest....More

You can spend an entire day here hiking the trails or just stopping off at the falls and taking pics. A little too busy for my liking if you enjoy hiking but its definitely worth taking the drive from vista house to the falls.

Buying food in Portland before you get into the Gorge would be a good idea as there are not that many places on the scenic highway. I would not recommend the Tippy canoe, but check it out for yourself, overpriced and not... More
