It's an interesting drive from the town of Tillamook. The way that we went took us from farmland to rural to a bunch of homes nestled against the hill facing the ocean. Then, up the hill to the destination. It was a windy, rainy day...More

From the parking lot you can actually take a paved path to the lighthouse, so this is one one the easiest hikes you will find. But you are still on a headland jutting out into the ocean, so don’t let the ease deter you. The...More

Its all about the Octopus tree! The light house is pretty cool, its not huge, but worth a visit, but the Octopus tree is SPECTACULAR! Not an easy time getting out here do to road closures, but well worth it. Definitely check road status before...More

We stopped here while we travelled down the Coast. Visited the lighthouse, gazed out into the magnificent seascape from the many overlooks, and watched a soaring Bald Eagle. Rest rooms were clean. The Oregon State Parks are very well done. We were favorably impressed.

A short walk to some spectacular scenery. The waves and the noise are intense. Exhilarating and refreshing. It must be even better on a clear day. You could spend a few hours here no trouble at all but the January storm had us back in...More

We caught this stop in the early morning while it was cool and crisp for a summer's day. The views are spectacular and the trail is paved and well maintained. It is steep by the lighthouse for those who are challenged; yet taking time to...More

We were staying in the area and decided to drive up to the cape to see the old lighthouse and the "Octopus Tree." The sunny weather afforded us some great views of the coastline and the Three Arches. The walk from the parking lot down...More

We spent about 45 minutes visiting the lighthouse and walking the loop trail. There was a hellacious storm at the time and it was awesome to see the waves doing their thing. The gift shop was closed for the season, and it's my hope that...More

this is a must-see for the area. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and give much information during the short "tour" upstairs. The views are wonderful, often with whale sightings. The walk down and back offers many other views of the sea, beaches, birds, more. Not...More

I'm not sure what times the area opens and closes. In the Winter months I would assume that it would be during daylight hours, probably 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. My wife and I went to Shore Acres State Park last weekend in the... More
