This is a unique attraction that one does not often see. Amazing that the dredge was operational up until 1956. A bit of mining history that is different from digging into the ground. The person on duty was very nice, very friendly, and very informative....More

We drove to Stumpter to see the dredge and the old town. There were no parking signs on both sides of the street, most of the business were closed and for sale. Not much to look at and we were very disappointed with our visit.

This place is cool if you wanna learn about gold & historic facts. During the summer & Sumpter Flea Markets they have informational tours on the train.

The kids loved it, great tour and really interesting place to walk around. Dogs cannot go into the dredge itself, it was to hot to leave him in the car so we just switched places and walked him around outside.

What a wonderful and informative experience. The volunteers are very friendly and very knowledgeable. The children I had with me ranged from 92 14. They all had a great time!
